What's great about it?
Lots of features, low price
What's not so great?
Zoom ring very stiff

Just received this lens for my Nikon D90. It operates as advertised without problem. I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research into this lens. I don't know if I just received an amazingly good copy or what, but images are sharp so far. Some vignetting at wid-open apertures, which is kind of expected especially with this kind of zoom range, by f8 at all ranges its pretty much imperceptible. The zoom ring is pretty stiff, and that would be my major gripe. I bought this lens to replace my previous one, which was broken when my tripod tipped. I would say this lens focuses more accurately, faster, and more quietly than that lens ever did. It also seems to do better in low light conditions for focusing. I will update as I can as time goes on, but extremely happy with the money spent thus far.

This website says this Sigma lenses is compatible with all Sony DSLR. Wrong! The Sigma Lenses box says this is compatible ONLY with Sony A33, A55. I wish I had this info before I bought this for my Sony A65. It doesn't work with my camera Sony a65 it locks up the camera and doesn't allow you to take any picture. I called the Sigma company and they agree with my statement. Buy the Sony DT 18-250 SAL 18250 for Sony A65, and A77.

The edges are a little dark. There are focusing issues when shooting wide open (I had wierd bluring heppening on just the right side). I've been shooting exclusively with prime lenses for the past year, and recently bought this to carry around. Took it on a trip last weekend and my point-and-shoot did just as well on wide angles and landscapes in the daytime. When the sun began to go down, the OS made a big difference - IT REALLY WORKS! I give this thing a 3.5. I'm not happy with the quality compared to my prime lenses but this is not horrible to carry around.
